(More customer reviews)I upgraded from a 2 horse trailer to a used 3 horse. I never owned a pressure washer nor had I ever seen one in operation. Somehow I got the idea to pressure wash both trailers. I went to one of the membership clubs and found the Snap On unit. Since I didn't know anything about them being electric and gas, it didn't mean anything to me. I took the thing home and setup was a really simple. Both the cord running from the unit to the wand and the power cord are really long. I used an extension cord in addition. The instructions recommend using a 25 foot garden hose however I used a 50 foot and I had plenty of pressure. I started with the 2 horse trailer that I had purchased used 6 years ago. When I originally purchased this trailer I hand scrubbed it and a lot of stubborn stains could not be removed. I was amazed when the Snap On easily removed the debris from poop, feed and urine. When I was finished, the trailer looked almost new. I took it to a tack store where they sell trailers on consignment. I dropped it off at 2 p.m. on a Saturday. It sold for full price at 4:30 p.m. the same day.
I attacked the second trailer the following day. This trailer is constructed of aluminum. There are feed bins that had food residue mixed with horse saliva. I never thought this stuff could be cleaned. The power washer made short work of all residue and left the bins looking like new. I did not use detergent on either trailer.
A couple days later, I cleaned the trailer residue from my driveway. Previously I cleaned my driveway with a hose and nozzle. That combination did a decent job of washing down the driveway. However, with the power washer it looked like the driveway had been scrubbed. Big difference.
There is a detergent tank. When I cleaned the driveway, I filled the tank with water and added an ounce or two of Simple Green. When applying detergents, you can't use the full pressure setting of the machine. Basically, you are applying the detergent at very low pressure. I applied the detergent to the stained areas of the driveway then came back to rinse with the unit on full pressure. This is a nice feature as you can apply detergent with a twist of the pressure control and twist back for full pressure with plain water.
Another thing that I like is the ability to adjust the spray from fan to direct stream without switching heads.
Now that I have read about the gas and electric units, I realize that the gas units can be 3 times more powerful. However the Snap On electric is plenty powerful for my use. Maybe I could get more pressure by using the recommended length of garden hose. I don't have to buy gas or have to service a motor. The unit is reasonably quiet. I could use the unit indoors. I can store the unit indoors without the smell of gasoline.
From my experience, I highly recommend this unit.
